After Hours Emergency
If your horse is experiencing a medical emergency outside of normal business hours, our emergency veterinary service is available. Do not hesitate to call if you are concerned about your horse.
When to Call
- Signs of colic (pawing, rolling, looking at flanks, sweating)
- Severe or uncontrolled bleeding
- Suspected fracture or severe lameness
- Eye injuries or sudden swelling
- Difficulty breathing
- Foaling complications
- Collapse or inability to stand
- Suspected snake bite or toxic plant ingestion

While waiting for the veterinarian to arrive:
- Keep calm and keep your horse as calm as possible
- Remove any hazards from the immediate area
- If safe to do so, move your horse to a safe, well-lit area
- For wounds, apply clean pressure with a bandage or clean cloth
- For suspected colic, remove all feed but allow access to water
- Note the time symptoms started and any changes
- Have someone available to assist the vet on arrival
